Georg Appeltshauser
Born in 1949 in Coburg, until 1980 furniture design was not actually what he had planned to do with his life. One of the first products developed under his own name was an armchair with a leg rest, which was honoured for its good design, made a big splash in the trade press and also sold very well. That model is still produced today in unaltered form.
Building upon that success, the focus of his work (in addition to some developments in the fields of trade fair construction and toys) has shifted to concepting and designing functional, usable furniture.
In recent years Georg Appeltshauser has applied for patents for over thirty innovations in the field of functional furniture, a large proportion of these patents having been granted.
Many successful and well-known designs in the product programmes of internationally renown is furniture companies demonstrate that he has taken the correct route.

Their common passion for furniture led to the present focus of their studio work, the top priority of which is developing innovative seating concepts in the upholstered furniture field.
The first mass-produced models arising from this collaboration were presented to the trade at the Cologne International Furniture Fair in 1999 and 2000 and attracted great attention.
